Products

Sentry has the experience, products and customer support skills to serve a broad range of library customers in Public, School, College, Private & Government libraries.

EM Systems

EM (Electromagnetic) library systems offer a reliable and versatile way to protect library books, magazines, and AV materials. Our EM systems use DSP (digital signal processing) to ensure accurate, reliable tag detection and are managed over the internet to maintain optimum performance and reduce service costs.

RFID Systems

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) library systems use radio waves to transmit data over short distances. This information contains the identity, location, and/or status of items in the library collection. Fast, easy and efficient, RFID technology eliminates the need for “line of sight”, thus simplifying check-out and check-in operations, materials handling, and inventory management.

Library Solutions

Tags & Labels

Sentry provides the highest quality EM (Electromagnetic), RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and RF (Radio Frequency) tags and labels ensuring accurate and reliable theft detection.

EM tags feature archival quality adhesive, developed in conjunction with one of the largest reference libraries in North America. Double-sided and single-sided tags protect soft-cover and hardcover books, magazines and periodicals. Specialty tags to protect AV media including CDs, DVDs, audiocassettes and VHS tapes. Deactivatable tags for circulating items and permanent tags for reference materials are available.

RFID labels will increase efficiency and productivity at the circulation desk, improve self-service, and inventory management while providing security. RFID labels are available for printed and AV media. Labels operate at 13.56MHz and are available in various sizes and finishes.

RFIDProtect™ enhances security of an RFID label. RFID labels can be easily identified and removed by patrons when applied to the surface of a book, lock box, etc. RFIDProtect™ solves this issue by covering the tag with a yellow or custom printed destructible cover label. The cover label uses pH neutral adhesive and is designed to fragment when removal is attempted. This slows the patron and draws attention to unwanted activity. Visible theft deterrents, a larger adhesive footprint and destructible label features reduce tag defeats. RFIDProtect™ labels are applied in-library by hand or using a rapid handheld applicator.

RF Labels are discrete, self-adhesive paper thin labels that protect the library collection. Labels are compatible with all industry standard RF vendors operating at 8.2 MHz and 9.5 MHz. Tags are offered in plain white and faux barcode finishes. Standard sizes are 1.5″ x 1.5″ and 2″ x 2″

Self-Check Systems

The QuickCheck™ system has an intuitive, flexible design that meets the needs of libraries using EM (Electromagnetic) and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. QuickCheck™ operates with traditional barcode labels, barcode & EM labels or RFID labels. Systems are compatible with all standard ILS software. The user interface includes a touch screen monitor offering step-by-step instructions to guide patrons through the check-out/in and renewals process of all library materials. QuickCheck™ is installed in major public and academic libraries throughout North America. Ease of system operation has resulted in patron usage rates far in excess of customer expectations.

Wireless USB Patron Counter

This completely wireless people counting system is a reliable, user-friendly, and affordable tool providing libraries with accurate count information.

When a patron breaks the bidirectional infrared beams between the transmitter and receiver, the count increases by one. Data is stored in the Counter and extracted via a USB Port using a thumb drive and then downloaded to a PC.

SensorServer software allows librarians to analyze the data by hour, day, week, month, and year in table or graph form. Data can be downloaded as a csv file for viewing and manipulation in Excel. This valuable information reveals peak traffic periods to determine optimal operating hours and staffing requirements.

EM or RFID? It can be confusing. Our team regularly offers demonstrations and webinars to help libraries better understand their options.
